Donald Trump says he doesn't need House Speaker Ryan's backing

Donald Trump said on Tuesday he doesn't need House Speaker Paul Ryan's backing after Ryan broke with the Republican presidential chosen one over a spilled recording of Trump making salacious remarks about ladies.


"I don't need his backing, I couldn't care less about his backing," Trump said, by of a meeting with Fox News.

Ryan, the top Republican in Congress, told party administrators on Monday he would not battle for Trump and would rather focus on holding Republican control of Congress in the Nov. 8 decisions.
