Gambian goalkeeper dies while crossing Mediterranean Sea to Europe

Fatim Jawara, who is the goalkeeper of the Gambia's ladies' national football group kicked the bucket in October while endeavoring to cross the Mediterranean Sea to Europe. 


Jawara was with different transients endeavoring to cross from Libya to Europe when the vessel she was going in inverted. 

As per the International for Migration (IOM) more than 3, 3000 vagrants have lost their lives in the Mediterranean in 2016 alone. 



Jawara who was said to be 19 when she cleared out Gambia in September and crossed to Sahara towards Libya. 

"Her passing is less than ideal, however we will recollect her for her extraordinary exhibitions on the pitch," her previous mentor at the Gambia U-17 female group, Chorro Mbenga told Guardian UK. 

President of the Gambian football organization, Lamin Kabba Bajo portrayed the goalkeeper's passing as an awesome misfortune to the countery.

"She will be associated with sparing an extra shot in a benevolent experience including the national soccer group and the Glasgow Girls from Scotland," Bajo said. 

Jawara made her presentation for the national group, known as the Scorpions, in a cordial against a group from Glasgow in October 2015.
